This colorful dude is Otter John ( http://www.otterman.net/John%20Bio/bio.html), a Seminole and the wildlife manager of Okalee Indian Village ( http://www.semtribe.com/TourismAndEnterprises/Hollywood/Okalee.aspx) on the grounds of the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, FL.
He is holding an American Crocodile, the saltwater cousin of my buddies the Alligator Mississippiensis (qv). Besides habitat, the differences are not subtle. Crocodiles are green, have pointed snouts and all their teeth protrude from their mouths when closed. Alligators are black, have shovel-shaped noses and typically only the fourth teeth show when the mouth is closed.
(I'd love to get one of those shirts. It might even be worth going to the Hard Rock Casino site.)
