Rhapsody Magazine called Béla Anton Leoš Fleck (named for the composers Bartok, Webern and Janáček) "one of the world's most innovative and technically proficient banjo players." He has been nominated for Grammys in more categories than anyone, ever.
His wife Abigail Washburn is a wildly proficient clawhammer-style banjo player who speaks (and sings in) Chinese and whose first album Fleck produced.
We had been fans of his for years and stumbled on them touring one night in Missoula, MT and were excited to read they were going back on the road in October, 2015 with two opening gigs in Connecticut.
Unfortunately this was the best part of the show. Somehow instead of adding to each other, they seemed to have -- I guess I want to say -- canceled each other out. We left at the intermission.
